Easter fun! Chocolate Nests
When I was a young child one of the happiest memories I have was making things in pre-school. One year we made these little nests for our parents at Easter and this year I decided to share the idea with my own little ones.
They don’t take long and the kids will enjoy making them, and making a mess.
You will need:
- 4 Shredded Wheat
- Chocolate eggs
Break the chocolate bar up into chunks and put in a mixing bowl.
Add hot water to a saucepan. Put the mixing bowl on top of the pan of hot water and gently stir the chocolate chunks until you have a smooth chocolate sauce.
Break the shredded wheat into pieces to form the nest sticks and twigs. Add this to the choclate and stir in well.
Place cake cases evenly on a tray.
spoon the mixture into cake cases and use a clean teaspoon to make small dips in the centre of each one. This is for the eggs.
Put the eggs in the centre of the nests and add the marshmallows. Be sure to press each one gently into the mixture.
Put in the fridge for 10 minutes or more until the chocolate is set and enjoy!
