3 Tips to Boost Your Confidence
Confidence is something I, like many others, sometimes lack. There are easy ways to boost your confidence and I’ve got three ways for you right here to get you started.
Positive Mental Attitude
A positive mental attitude makes everything much easier to handle and thus boosts confidence a lot. Thinking positively opens more doors and clears the mind ready to take on anything. It’ll help you see more opportunities and pursue them.
To increase my positive mental attitude, I listen to audiobooks. one book, in particular, helped me to view things in a different and better light. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne – have you heard of it?
Do something that scares you
Confidence is not something we are born with. We have to work on it constantly but it does get easier.
Do something that scares you every day. It helps build your confidence by pushing the boundaries of the comfort zone. It doesn’t have to be big things but the important part is that it scares you.
Doing scary things every day, even if it is talking to someone you’ve always wanted to or commenting on a post or picture you liked, will remind you that you are alive.
Get to know yourself
Most of us don’t really know who we are or at least we don’t take the time to learn about ourselves. We are taught things from a young age which reduces our need to think for ourselves. These specific things condition us from a young age to do and say things in a certain way but it doesn’t allow us to learn who we are and how we want to do things and say things.
I listened to a book recently that really helped me understand myself from the inside. It helped me take control of my thoughts and actions so I could be more confident in my choices and be happy to be me. It’s called The Chimp Paradox by Steve Peters.
In order to learn who we really are, we need to first look past everything and find our centre. A way you can do this is to forget everything for a moment and think about only this:
If you had no worries, no issues and didn’t need to work, what would you do? What hobbies would you pursue? Why?
Once you get to know yourself, you might find it much easier to understand yourself. When you understand what you are all about, it will be much easier to identify whether an action you take is helping your confidence or knocking you back.
